Various proposed statutes

According to the missions proposed, but also the person’s profile and project, different types of recruitments are possible, materialized by different statuses:

Volunteering

Volunteering is a personal choice, for anyone wishing to contribute their time and/or experience to the association free of charge. The voluntary commitment is the subject to a voluntary work agreement recalling the principles and methods of voluntary activity within the association, as well as the conditions of reimbursement of any expenses incurred for the voluntary activity. These are essentially activities carried out at the association’s headquarters. More rarely there can be a free training missions abroad, in which case the expenses related to the travel and stay of the volunteer are paid by the association.

International Solidarity Volunteering (VSI)

SamusocialInternational is one of the International Solidarity Associations approved by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send International Solidarity Volunteers (VSI) abroad. In accordance with the legislation on this status, the VSI signs a contract specifying the terms and conditions of engagement of the volunteer, as well as the various allowances and social cover linked to this status, and the modalities of preparation for departure, accompaniment during the mission and return assistance. This status is that of the long missions proposed by the association abroad. These missions generally have an initial duration of two years. However, the association, for punctual work of technical accompaniment or studies, can sometimes offer missions of less than one year.

Salaried employees

Salaried status is proposed for permanent positions at the association’s headquarters, for people who choose to put their experience of international solidarity at the service of the association’s development and support for social workers from abroad. It is the subject of contracts on open-ended contracts or temporary assignments on fixed-term contracts. Some short occasional assignments abroad may also be the subject of a fixed-term employment contract. In the case of assignments of less than 3 months, it will then be a status of “seconded” employee abroad, subject to a fixed-term contract of use.

National Samusocials and other partners abroad of samusocialInternational having their own legal existence are entitled to recruit their personnel in compliance with local labor legislation; samusocialInternational does not intervene in the recruitment and management of these national personnel.

Self-employed status

The status of self-employed worker (often associated with the function of consultant) is based on the logic of service provision and not on work involving a subordination link with the structure. It is adapted to evaluation and audit missions for which a certain level of independence is required, or to highly specialized missions to meet specific needs (for example. graphic design, printing, specialized support for a publication, etc.) Depending on the assignment, the service requested can then be the subject of a call for tenders, then a transparent selection process and finally, a service contract.

Internships

SamusocialInternational can host interns at its headquarters, usually based on an internship proposal clearly identified by samusocialInternational. This proposal will specify the types of activities or work to which the trainee will be able to contribute and will take into account the supervision and tutoring capacities of the course by the samusocialInternational team. The internship proposal is published and will be the subject of a selection process during which the association will ensure that the type of internship proposed matches the student’s professional project. The internship is the subject of an internship agreement signed by the university, the association and the student. Only student internships are possible within the association, and only for missions corresponding to the framework set out by French legislation (Decree No. 2006-1093 of 29 August 2006 amended for the application of Article 9 of Act No. 2006-396 of 31 March 2006 for equal opportunities, Article 6). Internships are also possible in national samusocials, but only if they are the subject of a proposal from the samusocial concerned. This proposal will then be published and will follow the same selection and agreement process as an internship at headquarters.
